Overnight to Rhodes
After the overcrowding of Santorini it was a pleasant surprise to find we were the only cruise liner in town. The Ship pulled up just outside the main old town with its walled surrounds. A 5 minute walk brought us into the centre of the walking/shopping precinct with an agreeable crowd of tourists. We walked up to the castle on the hill and then after a while down again via the arcades of shops. We stopped and Kay enjoyed the best Apple juice she ever had and I enjoyed a very nice Greek Beer.
Along the way Kay stopped and purchased a new shoulder strap handbag for 120 Euros and i get a new pair of thongs. We got back on board and set sail for a long sail to Port Said
Rhodes was occupied by the Knights Templar around 1300 and used as a base to fight the 3 crusades against the Muslins
Rhodes is now a part of Greece
